About the role

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager – Auckland, the Quality Assurance Technician will be required to support the quality team in implementing quality and food safety policies and procedures. The Quality Technician works closely with production to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Product testing and release.
  • Prepare samples for sensory evaluation, external TPL testing and analysis with different testing method and lab equipment.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab measurement equipment with proper documentation.
  • Communicate testing results wit internal stakeholders and generate COA’s for respective product release.
  • Keep the lab and environs clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Keep lab consumables in adequate supply.
  • Environmental monitoring program.
  • Site hygiene and sanitation program.
  • Support improvement initiatives.
  • Support site HACCP and other risk assessment systems as required.
  • Ensuring site Quality Systems are reviewed, updated, and maintained to comply with Kerry Global Quality Management system requirements quality / food safety. requirements and GSFI requirements.
  • Document control support by generating and maintaining quality and department procedures to enable structured training and adherence to relevant standards.
  • Intelex & SAP Quality support.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist in complaint and internal non-conformance investigations and close-out.
  • Other relevant duties as required.

Qualifications and skills

Ideally a Degree or Diploma in Food Science/Technology or a related discipline
Working knowledge of HACCP, quality, and food safety will be preferred
Understanding of quality and food safety standards e.g. BRC, ISO 22000, FSSC, GMP
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Some exposure to use of SAP, ERP will be preferred
Windows-based computer skills
Attention to detail and positive attitude for innovation and continuous improvement.
