Duty Manager [New Zealand]


 

Ken Yakitori Bar has been serving authentic Japanese for Aucklanders and travellers for over 26 Years since 1997. We are proud of our team. We are looking for a duty manager to join our team.

In order to keep our standard, the duty manager must meet to requirements below.

  • At least 2 years of related work experience (e.g. sales and marketing managing experience from any industry)
  • At least NZ Register Level 2 or 3 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification)
  • Knowledge of authentic Japanese food
  • Having NZ Licence Controller Qualification

Job Description

  • Demonstrating knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises
  • Responsible for selling alcoholic beverage
  • Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality meals/drinks
  • Responding to customers inquiries and complaints about meals/drinks and services
  • Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances
  • Instructing staff on how to handle difficult situations
  • Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals/drinks and services
  • Examining returned meals/drinks and deciding on appropriate action
  • Taking inventory and ordering new stock
  • Ensuring that meals/drinks and services are up to standard Especially, avoiding food poisoning
  • Ensuring safety and security procedures are enforced Especially, avoiding fire closing the main gas valve, etc
  • Taking reservations, greeting customers and assisting in taking orders

Other detail

  • This is a full-time and permanent position
  • Wage payment is $30 per hour, and you will be paid weekly
  • Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law
  • You will be working at 55 Anzac Avenue, Auckland City
  • We are open from Wednesday to Sunday from 6 pm to 1 am 5 days a week. It can be change open 7 days.
  • You will work for 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours) according to a roaster 5 - 6 days each week
